METALLURGICA MARCORA has been operating in the hot-rolled steel field for many years and it can be considered as one of the main producers of hot rolled sections for : drawing, components devoted to the automotive industry, special sections suitable for several applications in different sectors.
Over the past 100 years of activity, the company has been playing a leading role in the up and down evolution of Italian iron metallurgy. The first business concern operating in the steel field under MARCORA’s name was set up in 1878. It was 1908 when Giuseppe Marcora reinforced the corporate activity and started producing cold-drawn and cold-rolled sections. In 1931, supported by his three sons, he enlarged the range of products by installing first two furnaces for steel cast production and, then, a small “pilgrim process” hot-rolling mill for the production of seamless tubes and the subsequent cold-drawing.
In the ’50ies, a hot-rolling mill for long products was set at work.
In 1995, the old production site, located in the historical town centre of Busto Arsizio, moved to the present premises in Cuggiono.
This move meant a significant logistic enlargement and a total renovation of installations. Marcora also decided to deal exclusively in the production of hot-rolled long products.
Thanks to its well-established sectorial experience and constant technological improvement, METALLURGICA MARCORA can focus its production on items of increasingly higher quality through the accurate selection of raw materials, a careful process control and selective tests on finished products.
As a consequence, METALLURGICA MARCORA can surely confirm its own image of reliability and commitment characterised by a very personal style in meeting the needs of its numerous and qualified Customers and by the capacity to fulfil both small and large orders with the same punctuality and accuracy.
